Agency is the capacity to choose, act, create, and take responsibility. YADI starts from the premise that young Africans already possess agency; the task is to strengthen the knowledge, networks, and conditions through which it can be exercised.
Economic freedom is the institutional space in which agency becomes enterprise. YADI advances reforms that make it easier to create, innovate, exchange, compete, own, and benefit from productive activity.
Citizenship is agency expressed in public life. YADI builds civic knowledge and encourages constructive participation, accountability, institution-building, and reform.
Africa is not merely a place where ideas are applied. It is also a place from which ideas originate.
YADI engages global scholarship while treating African historical and contemporary experience as legitimate evidence for understanding freedom, enterprise, citizenship, and institutions.
